Sandra Lee Cornett Mikulencak, 68, of Portland passed away Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010. She was born March 10, 1942 in Papalote.
Sandra was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church. She had been on the board and was a past president of the Clara Driscoll Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, was a charter member, had been on the board and was a past president of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was also a member of the Society of the Colonial Dames XVII, the United Daughters of the Confederacy - Texas Division and the Real Great Granddaughter Club.
She was preceded in death by her father, Luke Lee Cornett, and her stepmother, Mamie Cornett.
She is survived by her husband, James E. Mikulencak of Portland; her children, Lawrence (Patricia) Mikulencak of Corpus Christi, Michele (Gary) Hinton of Odem, John (Linda) Mikulencak and Jim (Cammy) Mikulencak, all of Corpus Christi; her grandchildren, Lauren, Amanda, Whitney, David, Marcus, Joshua, Levi, Luke, Jake, Kimberly, Johnny, Madeline, Joseph, Benjamin and Hudson; her great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Nathan, Parker, Hailee, Oliver, James and Edward; her mother, Ruth Gregorczyk; her sisters, Sue Ramsey and Peggy Heiman; her brother, Pat Gregorczyk; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Robert Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Papalote Protestant Cemetery in Papalote.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, including Levi, Luke, Jake and Joshua Hinton, Johnny, David, Marcus, Benjamin, Hudson and Joseph Mikulencak.
In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make contributions to Susan B. Komen for the Cure, Attn: Donor Services, P. O. Box 650309, Dallas, Texas 75265-0309 in her memory.
