Irma Eva Villarreal Romero, 54, died Friday, July 11, 2008, surrounded by her family.
She was a longtime resident of Robstown, where she dedicated her entire career to teaching the children of the Robstown Independent School District.
She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Villarreal Sr.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Osvaldo Romero; four children, Cpl. Osvaldo Romero Jr. (Jessica); Isis Romero of Phoenix, Ariz., and Iris Romero and Eva Inez Romero, both of Robstown; her mother, Ofilia Garcia de Villarreal of Rio Grande City; her sisters, Irene Moreno, of Rio Grande City, Diana Kidwell of Clear Lake, Yolanda Gonzalez (Miguel Angel) of Rio Grande City, and Nina Cruz (Dr. Rafael Cruz) of San Antonio; two brothers, Daniel Villarreal Jr. of Rio Grande City, and Dr. Miguel Villarreal (Dr. Marina Chavez) of Lubbock; two grandchildren, Abigail Gonzalez and Daniel Osvaldo Romero; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service celebrating the life of Irma Romero was held in the Ramon Funeral Home Chapel at 3 p.m. Monday, July 14, with the Rev. Fabian Ramirez officiating.
