Paula M. (Caceres) Wise, 90, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2011. She was born on Nov. 18, 1920 in Donna to Ascencion and San Juana Balli Martinez. She was a Catholic and lived half of her life in Robstown and her last years in Houston. Besides being a homemaker, she had many talents, which included cooking, sewing, hunting, fishing, going on trail rides for the rodeo and taxidermy. She was also blessed with a beautiful voice.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her first husband, Beningo Caceres.

She is survived by her children, Ofilia C. (Frank) Leal of Robstown, and Zulema Caceres Soto of La Porte; a nephew whom she helped raise, Simon Salinas of Houston; her sister, Maria Guadalupe Sanchez of Pearland; six grandchildren, Melida C. Pelaez and her three children Colette Marie (Modesto Gallerdo) Pelaez, Rebecca Ann Pelaez and their father, David Pelaez, Angelina Mia Gonzalez Torres and her father, Abel J. Torres; Luis Carlos C. Gonzalez and their daughter, Gia Grace Gonzalez, and Margot C. (Mario) Moreno and their children, Drake Alexander Moreno, Matthew Moreno, and Andrew Moreno; Ricardo C. Leal and his children, Nicolas Jolicoeur, Frank, Rachel and Jessica; Patricia C. Leal and her child, Richard Daniel (Adriana) Leal; Irma C. Leal and her children, Pete (Bridget) Garcia III, Adam Garcia, and Gabriel L. Garcia; six great-great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

A Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel in Robstown.

The Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Burial followed at St. Anthony's Old Cemetery.
