Maria Luisa Bazan, 77, died Monday, July 7, 2008.

She was born Aug. 15, 1930 in Robstown to Cornelio and Virginia Olvera Cantu. She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Robstown. She was a Guadalupana for St. Mary, a member of the choir, the Altar Society, and a Crusillista for St. Mary Mission in Robstown. She was also involved in various other church organizations.

Survivors include her husband, Roman Bazan of Robstown; her children, Irma (Charlie) Cabrera, Enrique Bazan, Sylvia Munoz, all of Robstown, and Diana (Gerardo) Diaz of Lancaster; seven grandchildren, Carlos (Jennifer) Cabrera III, Miguel Cabrera, Mandy Munoz, Kimberly (John Paul) Murrillo, Stephanie (Johnny Jr.) Murrillo, Gabriel Bazan, Daniel Bazan, and Gary Salazar; four great-grandchildren, Carlos Cabrera IV, Felicity Cabrera, Madelyn Cabrera and Elexanna Murrillo; and numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, in the Ramon Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 9 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Interment followed in Robstown Memorial Park.
