Patricia A. Brandon, 78, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2009 after a long illness. She was born August 12, 1931 in Beaumont, Texas to Linnie Leah Walker Stewart and Eugene Lelan Stewart. She graduated from Tivy High School in Kerrville, Texas in 1949 and attended TSCW for one year while Leroy attended Schreiner College in Kerrville. She married Leroy Brandon, Jr. on September 1, 1950. They lived in Galveston, Texas from 1951 to 1956 and lived in Corpus Christi, Texas from 1956 to 1972 where she was secretary to the Tuloso-Midway Middle School Principal Harold Haynes until moving to Somerville, New Jersey in 1972. They lived in Somerville, New Jersey from 1972 until 2000 where she was the secretary to the Dean at Somerset Community College and President of the Part-Time Student's Association. She was a member of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution). She was a member of Woodlawn Presbyterian Church for two years, then Parkway Presbyterian Church until 1965. She was then a member of Jackson Woods Presbyterian Church from 1965 until 1972 where she was active in Women of the Church and women's circles. While in New Jersey she was a member of Pluckemin Presbyterian Church until 2000.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Christopher Michael Brandon.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Leroy Brandon, Jr.; her sons, Lee (Vicki) Brandon and Stewart (Lyn-Dee) Brandon; two sisters, Marji Gravett and Zoe Limegrubler; five grandchildren, Tanya, Leann, Dawn, Leroy and Patricia; nine great-grandchildren; one nephew and numerous nieces.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2009 in Jackson Woods Presbyterian Church with Rev. Michael Brundeen officiating. Burial followed in Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make contributions to the Alzheimers Association.
