Edwin Lawhon Sr., 73, of San Patricio, passed away Dec. 11, 2011 at his home surrounded by family and loved ones.
Lawhon was born June 20, 1938 in Kingsville to Clyde Alexander and Daisy Mae Bailey Lawhon, and was raised in Bishop. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran, machinist for Corn Products, and then owned his own business, Edís Pump Service.
Lawhon was a member of Northwest Church of Christ and was a former member of the Banquete Lions Club and the Moose Lodge.
He was preceded in death by a son, Edwin Leroy Lawhon Jr.; his parents; stepfather, R. V. Poe; and a brother, Billy Lawhon.
He is survived by his wife of over 54 years, Loretta Lawhon, of San Patricio; son, Randy (Dene) Lawhon of Spring; daughter, Pam (John) Thomas of Bossier City, La.; sisters, Barbara Weatherly of Orange Grove and Lois Lanie of New Iberia, La.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation took place Dec. 13, 2011 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.
Funeral services were conducted Dec. 14, 2011 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel, with David Fast officiating.
Entombment followed at the Robstown Memorial Park Mausoleum.
