Marjorie W. Marshall Harney of Robstown died Dec. 26, 2007, after a year-long valiant battle with cancer.
Marjorie was born Sept. 15, 1932, to Ralph Eugene and Ora Gladys Wilder Marshall in Corpus Christi.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her son, William "Billy" Harney III; her parents, Ralph and Ora Marshall; her maternal grandparents, Oscar Owen Wilder and Ogie Funderburgh Wilder; her paternal grandparents, Richard Lee Marshall and Alma Alice Wilson Marshall.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, William B. Harney Jr. of Robstown; her daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Charles Bockholt; her grandson, Jared Bockholt, all of Corpus Christi; two granddaughters, April Harney Harmeier and Amee Harney Cain; three great grandsons, Brice Harmeier, Chad Cain and newborn John Ryan Cain, all of Magnolia; and her sister-in-law, Pat Harney Adams (Jim Adams) of Victoria. In addition, Marjorie is survived by her dog Dixie.
Marjorie grew up in Corpus Christi and graduated from Corpus Christi High School (Miller). After she graduated, Marjorie moved with her parents to Robstown, where she met "Bill". Marjorie retired from Denton Petroleum Co. in December, 1998. Marjorie was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Robstown where she and Bill were married on July 12, 1952. She was a member of the Morning Glories, a U.M.W. guild of the Methodist Church. She was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas; the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Clown Alley #23 of Corpus Christi and the COAI, Clowns of America, Inc.
Services were held on Saturday, Dec. 29 at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Robstown. Private graveside services followed later that afternoon.
Pallbearers were John Calloway, Bob Howze, Charles Snyder, Fred Helpert, Cecil Wright and Otis Wilder.
