Geraldine Crum Watkins, 75, of Robstown died Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, in a Corpus Christi hospital after a long courageous battle with health problems.

She was born March 1, 1933 in Bogue Chitto, Miss., to Ernest and Mattie Laird Johnston. Gerry married Lawrence Crum in 1950, and spent the next 20 years as a preacher's wife. After he passed away while the minister of Highway 44 Church of Christ in Robstown, she was employed as a bank teller at State National Bank in Robstown. Later she married W. R. "Pug" Watkins. Lawrence and Pug along with a grandson, Quinton Crum preceded her in death. She was a member of Highway 44 Church of Christ in Robstown.

She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Crum of Robstown, and Martha (Darwin) Wilks of Grapevine; her son, David (Amber) Crum of Robstown; her brother, Elwin Johnston of Bogue Chitto, Miss.; six grandchildren, Bobby (Traci) Hestand, Jeseph Crum, Brandon Stover, Bobbi Stover, Jay (Shannon) Walthall and Jill Wathall; one great-grandchild, Adam Hestand; numerous nieces and nephews; and her church family at Highway 44 Church of Christ.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, in Highway 44 Church of Christ in Robstown with Doug Wilks officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery.
