Lucille Evelyn Heinsohn, daughter of William and Mary Eschberger, was born on Dec. 18, 1917 in Coupland. She married Robert John Prinz on Jan. 8, 1936. After 37 years of marriage, Robert died of cancer on October 12, 1973. While attending Christ Lutheran Church in Corpus Christi, Evelyn met Lester Heinsohn and the two were married on Nov. 27, 1980. They were married for 26 years before he died on Aug. 9, 2007.

She was an outstanding cook, talented seamstress and regularly outfitted her whole family with clothing. She was also a Sunday School teacher for countless years.

She died surrounded by family on Jan. 21, 2009 at a local hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Prinz and Lester Heinsohn; her daughter, Lucille (Dannie Joe) McMurray; her grandson, Keith Prinz; three great-grandchildren; her parents, William and Mary Eschberger; her sister, Gladys Ging; and her brothers, Calvin, George and Jimmy Eschberger.

Lucille Evelyn is survived by her brother, Elvy (Mildred) Eschberger of Taylor; her sister, Florence Kruse of Taylor; her son, Robert (Gloria) Prinz of Garland; her daughters, Katherine (Bill) Favor of Pearland, and Phyllis (Charlie) Toler of Robstown; her step-children, Tommy (Becky) Heinsohn of Buda, and Anna (Liz) Heinsohn of San Antonio; her grandchildren, Mark (Yvonne) McMurray, Michelle (Dennis) Polk, Jeanette (Randy) Tigrett, Lynette Colvin, Gordon McMurray, Kevin Heider, Kenton Heider, Kyle (Paula) Heider, Susan (Dave) Wilson, Janna Prinz, Sharon (David) Luker, John (Julie) Prinz and Sharlene (Danny) Tate; her step-grandchildren, Nathan and Matthew Heinsohn; and great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, family and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Jeffrey Thompson and Brian Julin-McCleary officiating. Burial followed in Seaside Memorial Park in Corpus Christi.

Pallbearers were Lucille Evelyn's grandsons, including Mark McMurray, Gordon McMurray, John Prinz, Kevin Heider, Kenton Heider, Kyle Heider, Nathan Heinsohn and Matthew Heinsohn.

In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make contributions to St. John Lutheran Church Building Fund, 3316 Hummingbird Lane, Robstown, Texas 78380.
