Faustina "Tina" C. Tovar, 84, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2009.

She was born June 6, 1924 in Runge to Jose Maria and Antonia Aguilar Chapa. She was a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista in Robstown. She was a homemaker and a longtime resident of Robstown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Crispin Tovar Sr.; her father, Jose Maria Chapa; her parents, Antonia and Esequiel Caballero Sr.; two sisters, Herlinda Caballero and Ester (Frank) Caballero; and her brother, David Caballero.

Survivors are her children, David (Emma) Tovar of Corpus Christi, Maria Cristina (George) Wafer of Wharton, Crispin (Jesusa) Tovar Jr. of Orange Grove, Joe (Norma) Tovar, Linda (Pedro) Ramirez, and Patricia (Arnoldo) Rodriguez, all of Robstown; her granddaughter, whom she raised, Erika Tovar of Robstown; her brother, Esequiel Caballero Jr. of Corpus Christi; three sisters, Tomasita Caballero, Araceli (Johnny) Rodriguez, both of Corpus Christi, and Hilda (Richard) Mugerza of Round Rock; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, in the Ramon Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9, in the Ramon Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers were David Anthony Tovar, Robert Wafer, Crispin Tovar III, Jason Ramirez, Joe Tovar Jr. and Arnoldo Rodriguez Jr.

Honorary pallbearers were Paul Michael Tovar and Arnoldo Rodriguez III.
