Olivia Duran Esquivel, 85, of Corpus Christi passed away on Friday, Aug. 14, 2009.

She was born on Jan. 21, 1924 in Bryan to Jesus and Sostenez Gonzalez Duran. She retired from Wynn Seale Junior High School in Robstown, where she was employed as a cook at the cafeteria. She was a member of Solid Rock Worship Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Ramon Duran, Amador Duran and Julian Duran; and two sisters, Margarita Duran and Guadalupe Esquivel.

Survivors are her children, Rosie Faragoza, Diana (Robert) Anderson, both of Corpus Christi, and Manuel Esquivel of Michigan; two brothers, Daniel Duran of Michigan, and Gerardo Duran of Dallas; her sister, Eloisa Garza of Michigan; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, in the Ramon Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service was conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17, in the Ramon Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at Memorial Park Cemetery.
