Enrique "Henry" Hernandez Ocanas, 72, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2010.
He was born on April 7, 1938 in Robstown to Felix Garcia Ocanas Sr. and Alejandrina Hernandez Ocanas. Henry was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, a musician and a composer who enjoyed playing his trumpet with numerous mariachi groups.
He also enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Eduardo Ocanas and Genaro Ocanas.
He is survived by four brothers, Felix (Irma) Ocanas Jr., Troy (Josie) Ocanas, Elbert (Jane) Ocanas Sr., all of Corpus Christi, and Joe (Noelia) Ocanas of Robstown; four sisters, Connie (Ruben) Lopez of Alvin, Esperanza (Eusebio) Cano of Corpus Christi, Guadalupe (Alex) Mosqueda of Austin, and Ernestina (Larry) Pena of Friendswood; his sister-in-law, Manuela Ocanas of Robstown; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 13, in the Ramon Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, May 14, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Burial followed at Memorial Park Cemetery.
