Reynaldo Garcia Sepulveda, born on May 24, 1931 died on June 18, 2009.
He served his country as a sergeant in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean Wars. He returned home and married Dolores Saenz. He owned and operated the Robstown Mobil Service station for 15 years. He retired from the Corpus Christi Army Depot in 1997 after 26 years of service as an Air Craft Mechanic Work Leader. He received numerous commendations and promotions for his superior performance and his innovativeness in the suggestion of the inventing of tools that were proven to be versatile in the Rotor Control Department. He received the Presidential Medal of Honor in 2000 for his service to his country.
He was preceded in death by his son, Reynaldo Sepulveda Jr.; sisters, Dora Barrera and Lydia Perez; brother, Matias Sepulveda; and mother, Elvira Garcia Sepulveda.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dolores Sepulveda; one daughter, Lorraine (Jimmy) Morales of Robstown; two sons, Ronnie (Irma) Sepulveda of Robstown, and Alston Clifford Sepulveda of Robstown; a grandson, whom he helped raise, Reynaldo Sepulveda III; sister, Ofelia Castanon of San Diego; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.
A Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 21, at Ramon Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, June 22, at St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Burial followed at Robstown Memorial Park.
