Eleodoro "Eli" Vasquez Garza, 70, passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2010.

He was born on May 6, 1939 in Petronila to Jose and Natividad Vasquez Garza.

He was employed with Chevron as a chief plant operator for 20 years. He was also in the United States National Guard.

Mr. Garza was a resident of Corpus Christi, and a former resident of Robstown, Snyder, McAllen and Buda.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Amadeo Garza; and three brothers, Jose Garza, Noe Garza and Ruben Garza.

He is survived by his wife, Irma Garza of Corpus Christi; his children, Naida (Luis) Garza of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Eleodoro Garza Jr. of San Antonio; his daughter-in-law, Genevieve Garza of San Antonio; his brothers, Rafael Garza of Bishop, Ignacio Garza of Houston, Homero Garza of Boerne, Mauro Garza of Sinton, and Gilbert Garza of Corpus Christi; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Prayer Service was held at 7 p.m. Friday, April 2, at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel in Robstown.

The funeral service was conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at The Bridge Church in Robstown.

Interment followed at Memorial Park Cemetery in Robstown.
