Martha Mae Hopkins Wilson, 71, died on Friday, March 27, 2009.
She was born March 21, 1938 in Gonzales to O.B. Hopkins and Oral Lee Hopkins.
She accepted Christ at an early age. She attended public school in Gonzales, where she was the first of six children.
She was a member of Star of Zion Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir.
She also sang with Star of Zion Airs and Angelic Mass Choir.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Ernest Wilson, Willie B. Woolford and Rex McDonald; her son, Benny Ray Odem; her brother, Walter M. Hopkins Sr.; her grandson, Anthony Wilson; and her great-granddaughter, Janisha Thompson.
Survivors are her daughters, Elizabeth Louise (Willie) Lewis of League City, Ernestine Asberry, Alice Hopkins, Rex "Boochie" Wilson, all of Corpus Christi, and Bernice Leth of Robstown; three sisters, Georgia Lee Jackson, Vernice Hawkins, both of Robstown, and Patricia Ann Drake of Corpus Christi; her brother O.B. Hopkins of Annaville; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A wake was held at 6 p.m. Monday, March 30, in the Ramon Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, at Star of Zion Baptist Church in Robstown. Interment followed at Robstown Cemetery.
