Harriet Sabina King, 87, of Corpus Christi, died Feb. 16, 2008, in Austin. She was born Oct. 9, 1920, in Hebbronville to Adelbert and Hattie Frye. She was a member of Calallen Baptist Church for many years and was employed by Calallen I.S.D. in the Magee Elementary School Cafeteria for over 20 years. She was affectionately known by staff and students as the "Salad and Hot Roll Lady."
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Henry A. Frye and Charles Frye; two sons, Lem De Vilbiss and Henry De Vilbiss.
She is survived by her daughters, Phyllis (Eldon) Cochran of Robstown, Bonnie (Floyd) McCurry of Boise, Idaho, and Sandra (Robert) Moyer of Gilbertsville, Pa.; her son; Richard Gayle (Esperanza) De Vilbiss of San Antonio; her sister, Nellie Lawhon of Bastrop; her brother, Bill Frye of Santee, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces nephews and friends.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 11 a.m. in the Calallen Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Willoughby officiating. Interment was in Rose Hill Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Hospital or Calallen Baptist Church.
