Beatrice Tejeda Esquivel, 83, died Monday, Feb. 2, 2009.

She was born on Aug. 29, 1925 in Cuero to Juan and Julia Cantu Tejeda. She was a homemaker and a longtime resident of Robstown.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Candelaria Benitez and Hortencia Cisneros.

Survivors are her husband, Daniel Esquivel; three daughters, Diana Esquivel, Dalia (Jerry) Watkins and Debra Yamauchi, all of Robstown; two brothers, Raymond Ramon Tejeda and Ismael Tejeda, both of Abilene; four sisters, Mary Lou O'Brien of Tennessee, Lupita Carrasco of Lubbock, Minnie Arredondo of Abilene, and Delfina Woo of Dallas; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A religious service was held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Robstown Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, at Iglesia Bautista Southside. Interment followed in Robstown Cemetery.
