Beverley May Collins Borchelt, of Corpus Christi, died on May 8, 2009, ending a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer.
Beverley was born on March 10, 1947 in Perth, Western Australia to Norman and Helen Collins. After graduating from school, she traveled to London on a working holiday and then on to Kingsville, where she met her husband of 37 years, Larry. She obtained a degree in accounting from Texas A&I University and managed a career that lasted more than 25 years with Rabalais I&E Constructors.
She was a founding and active member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Her hobbies included knitting, needlepoint and crochet. While she played and managed a number of softball teams, her passion was tennis.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her father-in-law, Merle Borchelt of Dallas.
She is survived by her husband, her mother-in-law, Virginia Borchelt; a sister, Lorraine (Rob) Meuleman; sister-in-law, Linda Borchelt; brother-in-law, Mark Borchelt; two children, Tamarra (Rick) Liddle; their children, Hannah and Caleb and Preston (Kelly) Borchelt; their children, Maylyn, Avery and Sophia; and numerous other relatives here in the United States, Australia, England and Scotland.
A memorial service will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church, 4102 Trinity River Drive (at the entrance to the Wood River subdivision off Northwest Boulevard in Calallen) at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 15. A time of fellowship will immediately follow the service.
