ALICE, Texas - Servando Alaniz, 76, passed away May 1, 2010, in his home. He was born on September 3, 1933, in Rio Grande City, Texas to Maximo and Maria Garza Alaniz. He was the owner of the Exxon gas station in Robstown, Texas, for many years. He served in the Air Force and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #61 in Robstown, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Corine Alaniz of Robstown; three daughters, Maria Theresa Garza of Agua Dulce, Texas, Rachel Alaniz Cole, of Lake Ridge, Va., Cynthia Alaniz of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Consuelo (Esteban) De La Cerda of Dallas, Texas; two brothers, Raul (Julia) Garza of Rio Grande City, Texas, and Reymundo (Velma) Alaniz of Silver Spring, Md.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A military memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at the family home at 103 King Ave., in Agua Dulce, Texas.
