Francisco "Pancho" Perez Reyes, 78, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010. He was surrounded by his family. He was born in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico on Jan. 28, 1932. He was the youngest son in a family of 12. Francisco's life was one adventure after another. He was raised on his family's Mexican ranch and left for the United States in his early teen years. He spent about 12 years in Michigan, where he got married for the first time and had a family of six children.

Later he moved back to the South Texas area and married for the second time. His marriage to Aurora Perez, whom he had an additional four children with, lasted 38 years. Pancho had a good sense of humor, enjoyed life, traveling and barbecuing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Aurora Perez, in 2001.

Francisco is survived by six sons, Francisco Perez Jr., Albert Perez, Fernando Perez, Steven Perez, Ramon Perez and Michael Perez; four daughters, Irene Luna, Angelina Perez, Gloria Perez-Villanueva and Naomi Perez; his younger sister, Magdalena P. Arriaga; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.

His life was celebrated with a Rosary at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 20, 2010 at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel in Robstown.

The Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Robstown.

Interment followed at Memorial Park Cemetery in Robstown with a reception at St. John's Catholic Church in Robstown.
