Oscar Kent Kuzniar, 49, of Corpus Christi died on March 22, 2009.

He was born July 12, 1959 in Mercedes to Walter George Kuzniar and Mildred Ethel Kuzniar. Oscar grew up in Santa Rosa and graduated from Gregory-Portland High School. He was a brick mason by trade and learned his skills from his father.

He worked at the family business, Walter Kuzniar Masonry for the majority of his career. He loved fishing, surfing and barbecuing at the river.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter G. Kuzniar; his brother, Walter Wade Kuzniar; and his niece, Misty Stubbs.

He is survived by his mother, Mildred E. Kuzniar; his son, Walter Wade Kuzniar II; his daughter, Lauren Elaine Kuzniar; his brother, George A. Kuzniar; his sisters, Alice L. Kuzniar, all of Corpus Christi, Carol Garza and husband Abdon and family of San Antonio; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 28, in the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Greg Hackett, Pastor of First United Methodist Church of Corpus Christi officiating.

In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make contributions to the Food Bank of Corpus Christi, 826 Krill Street, Corpus Christi, Texas 78408.
