The Tuloso-Midway cross country program proved once again that it is a force in South Texas.

The girls team won the District 30-5A team championship and Ace Castillo won the boys individual title at the district meet Saturday at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi’s Dugan Stadium.

The girls team edged Carroll by six points to win the district championship. Madison Bennett was third with a time if 20:11. Franchesca Gatlin was sixth with a time of 20:31.

Castillo won the boys race with a time of 16:28. He was at least 20 seconds faster than everyone else in the field.

The top 10 individuals and top three teams advance to the Region IV-5A championships, which also will be held at the Dugan Soccer/Track Stadium on Oct. 29.
