Some teams are firm believers in the power of defense… that a great defense more often than not wins out against a great offense.

That’s not the Aledo Bearkats’ philosophy. In fact, their game plan is closer to a great offense is the best defense. And, they have the statistics to back that up.

Through 15 games this season, Aledo has scored 859 points for an average of 57 points a game. While their defense has allowed points, few teams have actually be in games against the Bearkats.

Senior quarterback Dillon Davis is among the state’s top passers. He’s completed 186 of 299 passes for 3,695 yards and 45 touchdowns. Davis is also part of a legacy in Aledo. All three of his other brothers have won state championships with the Bearkats.

With a quarterback like Davis, Aledo has a fleet of talented receivers. The group is paced by senior Logan Bridges, who has 50 receptions for 1,088 yards and 14 touchdowns. Right behind him is Hunter Rosson, who has 51 catches for 930 yards and 13 touchdowns, and Preston Jefferies, who has 39 catches for 918 yards and 10 scoring catches.

Amazingly, despite all the passing yardage, the Bearkats have two 1,000-yard rushers and another 900-yard rusher. Freshman Jase McClellan leads the team in rushing with 1,430 yards and 19 touchdowns. Senior Michael Jordan has 113 carries for 1,099 yards and 17 touchdowns. Donald Evans has 22 rushing touchowns and 950 yards on 134 carries.
