It’s always a showdown when neighboring schools Tuloso-Midway and Calallen get together, and Tuesday’s match-up was no different.

The Calallen Lady Wildcats came in winless in North Zone action in District 30-5A, but they seemed determined on pulling off an upset.

They were solid early on and even led 23-18 at halftime. However, the Tuloso-Midway Cherokees survived the wave and settled down in the second half.

Behind a 12-point performance by Megan Cantu, all three pointers, the Lady Wildcats bounced back, pushing overtime and winning, 47-45.

Alycen Hoelscher had 11 points and McKenzie Hermes contributed to the Cherokees with 10 points.

The Cherokees improved to 3-0 in North Zone play, while Calallen dropped to 0-3. T-M is 12-12 for the season.
