A match-up between the Calallen Wildcats and Corpus Christi Moody Trojans isn’t anything new. They’ve meet before in the regular season and the state playoffs.

However, when the two teams meet this week for a best-of-three game series, the District 30-5A championship will be on the line. It’s the final chapter of the first season for this 11-team district.

Calallen had the best record in the North Zone and Moody won the South Zone and is still unbeaten for the season. The winner claims the district title, while the loser is the runner-up. The Alice-King and Ray-Carroll match-ups will decide the district’s other two playoff spots.

Game 1 of the Championship Series is at 7 p.m. Thursday at Cabaniss Field. Game 2 is at 7 p.m. at Chapman Field. If needed Game 3, is at 8 p.m.Saturday back at Cabaniss.
