The Calallen Wildcats found themselves in a unique position last Friday night.

Midway through their season opener against Mercedes Friday night in Phil Danaher Field against the pesky Tigers, the Wildcats found themselves tied 7-7 coming out of halftime.

That's when Calallen settled down and played like the state-ranked squad they are. The Wildcats turned the close game into a blowout, 35-7.

Following halftime, the Wildcats strung together a seven-play drive which spanned 81 yards and was capped off by Alex Brown. Brown ended the drive on a one-yard dive.

The Wildcats ended the night with 327 yards of offense.
