Kingsville, Texas - The Texas A&M-Kingsville men's and women's cross country programs will get an early jump on the 2018 schedule as head coach Ryan Dall revealed the upcoming campaign for the Blue and Gold on Friday.

"We're hoping to have a really good season and to develop some of our younger athletes throughout the season," said Dall. "This schedule should give them a challenge and should prepare them to move up the ranks of the Lone Star Conference.

"The LSC, as always, will be a challenge as West Texas A&M and Tarleton are always tough for the men, and for the women you have MSU Texas, WT, Tarleton and Eastern New Mexico who are usually pretty good. Our goal is to finish in the top half of the conference and that's what we're going to focus on."

The Javelinas will open the year in Dallas at the Orville Rogers Cross Country Opener hosted by Dallas Baptist on September 1before returning to action on September 22 for the Texas A&M Invitational in College Station, Texas.

TAMUK will head east the following week to compete in the Cowboy Stampede on September 29 in Lake Charles, La., hosted by McNeese State before closing the regular season on October 12 at the Ranger College Invitational in Ranger, Texas.

The LSC Championships will take place in Canyon, Texas, on November 3 before the South Central Regional follow up on November 17 in Denver.

The NCAA Division-II Cross Country Championships are set for December 1 in Pittsburgh.
