Officials with the Coastal Bend Thunder announced this week that Al Gallagher would return as skipper for the team in its second season.
Gallagher, known around the clubhouse as "Dirty Al," has been involved in professional baseball for more than 40 years. He was a 1965 first round draft choice by the San Francisco Giants, and has been a baseball manager since 1976.
The Thunder went 39 and 41 in their first season, with a trip to the United League Baseball playoffs.
In addition to Gallagher, Javier Limon and Ray Hunt are Assistant General Managers for the team.
With the season set to begin in May, Limon said the team is once again asking for host homes for players. Last year, five families in the Robstown area allowed players to stay with them during the season. While those families have all agreed to host again this year, Limon said an additional few families are needed.
"We did real well (last year)," Limon said. "They're all going to do it again, but we need a couple more."
For more information about hosting a player in your home, call the Coastal Bend Thunder at 361-933-1120.
The 2010 season schedule is expected to be released in the next few weeks, Limon said.
