The Calallen Wildcats' varsity girls powerlifting team finished third behind Banquete and Port Lavaca Calhoun during the Gregory-Portland High School meet Saturday.
Calallen's Gaby Gaona was named most outstanding lifter in her fifth straight tournament.
The 165-pounder lifted a total of 940 pounds; just 65 pounds shy of Meghan Deaver, who won her division at 220-plus.
Also posting top three finishes were Calallen's Shelby O'Brien and Lynsey Lopez.
O'Brien was second at 181 pounds, while Lopez was third at the 220-plus division.
Gaona, Deaver, O'Brien, Lopez and five other lifters qualified for the Kingsville Regional Meet, which will be held March 1.
Also making the cut for Calallen were Natalie Harvey, Brianna Brunner, Amy Broomfield, Tyler Williams and Cassandra Sanchez.
Shelby Cunningham qualified for the regional tournament as an alternate in the 132-pound division.
Calallen's varsity boys powerlifting team did not participate in the team competition because they had only five participants, three of whom had top three finishes.
Henry Rivera finished in third place in the super heavyweight division. Ben Flores came in second at 242 pounds and B.J. Campos won the 114-pound class.
Campos lifted a total of 900 pounds to win the competition.
