The Calallen Wildcat baseball team honored the late Tony Reyes Friday night for his many years of photographic work covering Calallen sports.

Players, fans and others paid tribute to Reyes with a moment of silence before Friday's last regular-season game against Flour Bluff.

A sign was unveiled on the right-centerfield wall in tribute to Reyes, and the Calallen players ran to it as a group in honor of Reyes. The sign reads: "In Memory of Tony Reyes. Best seat in the house."

The Wildcats' baseball team dedicated its 2008 season to Reyes, with the letters "T.R." stitched into their hats.

Reyes graduated from Calallen High School in 1956, and took pride in being the school's first Hispanic graduate. His devotion to all Calallen sports was unwavering, including maintaining a Web site showcasing Calallen sports.

Reyes died Feb. 29 at the age of 71.
