After finishing in the runner-up spot in the Intense Bowl for the last two seasons, the Corpus Christi Hammerheads are hoping they can treat fans at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds' Citgo Arena to another successful season and an IFL Championship.
The Hammerheads recently announced their schedule for the 2008 season, which will begin a little earlier this season.
They will start with a three-game homestand against the San Angelo Stampede Express on March 15, the Alaska Wild on March 22 and the Fairbanks Grizzlies, the newest team in the IFL, on April 5.
Fairbanks is the second team from Alaska to join the IFL after the Wild joined last season.
The Hammerheads will also have a long road trip in their schedule as they will play five straight road games between May 10 and June 21.
Last season, Corpus Christi finished with its best record ever at 13-3 including a trip to the Intense Bowl, where they lost to the Louisiana Swashbucklers. The Swashbucklers were the only team to beat the Hammerheads, defeating them twice in the regular season before winning the Intense Bowl.
Corpus Christi will have its opportunity for revenge as the play Louisiana in the regular season finale June 28 at home.
