The high school football season ended for the Calallen Wildcats in Victoria Friday night as the Medina Valley Panthers shut them out 14-0.
The Wildcats finish the season with a 10-2 record, an improvement from last year's record of 8-4.
Both teams kept one another from scoring until the third quarter, when Panther quarterback Troy Stein snuck into the end zone for a touchdown.
Stein scored again in the fourth quarter with a 52-yard touchdown run.
Calallen was held to only 57 yards rushing and 157 yards total. Buddy Wright led the team in rushing yards with 56 yards on 10 carries, bring his total for the season to 819 rushing yards on 106 carries.
Quarterback Tanner Sparks went nine-for-23 for 100 yards. He finished the season with 1,737 yards and 12 touchdowns passing, completing 135 out of 230 attempts.
Medina Valley was unable to get a passing game going, but had 230 yards rushing. Stein finished the game with 130 rushing yards on 25 carries.
With the win, the Panthers advance to the regional playoffs and will face the Kerrville Tivy Antlers Friday at 3 p.m. at San Antonio's Heroes Stadium.
