As if winning the 4A baseball title wasn't enough, the Calallen Wildcats continued to get showered with accolades as eight players from the team received All-State recognition after their impressive 40-1 season.
Logan Verett was named to the All-State baseball team three times for First Team pitcher, Second Team third baseman and Player of the Year.
Verrett finished the season with an 18-0 record and an ERA of less than 1.00.
The graduated senior will try to put his talent to good use as he begins his fall semester at Baylor University.
Head coach Steve Chapman was named Coach of the Year.
This was the team's third state title in eight years.
They last won the championship in 2005.
Also getting recognized were two key players in the teams championship run - pitcher Jordan John and catcher Patrick Frasier.
John, who pitched the championship game, finished the season 11-1 and was given Second Team recognition.
Frasier, the 2008 State Championship MVP, was given Third Team recognition.
With the exception of John and sophomore Roland Resendez, the other six members that received recognition were all graduating seniors.
