It was an on-and-off performance by the Lady Cotton Pickers when they took on Miller Friday. But in the end, junior Mia Tamez gave the final spike to complete a comeback victory over the Lady Bucs.

"I'm not even sure what happened in the middle there," Coach Lolly Arevalo "The second game, we just let up. Hats off to Miller. They were digging every shot we made."

Robstown pulled away from an early 5-5 tie in the first set with a 25-9 final. But Miller countered with 25-22 and 25-13 wins in sets two and three.

The Lady Cotton Pickers regrouped and executed better in set four to take a strong 25-10 win, forcing the decisive fifth set.

The Lady Bucs kept things even for much of the first half, but Robstown pulled away from a 7-7 tie to take the set 15-11.

"We kept fighting," Arevalo said. "It was a close one here in the end. But a win is a win. We'll take it."

Robstown returned to action on Tuesday when they traveled to Lyford. Results for that game were not available as of press time.
