The Calallen Lady Wildcats volleyball team continued its impressive season with a 3-0 win over the Moody Lady Trojans on Friday. The girls' win came on sets of 25-18, 25-15 and 25-11.
After getting a feel for every district opponent so far, Calallen coach Linda Lindsey said she isn't going to let her team think that they're where they need to be, at least not yet.
"To get better, we need to work on mental toughness," Lindsey said. "I feel like our skill set is there, but mental toughness is something I feel we're not quite there on."
The win gives Calallen a perfect 6-0 record in district play, putting them in sole possession of first place. The next step will be facing all six of those teams once more.
"We have a target on our back," Lindsey said. "A lot of the teams we play have gotten significantly better throughout the year. I'm worried we haven't matched their pace of progress."
The Lady Wildcats started their second round of district games Tuesday when they faced Alice. Scores for that contest were not available as of press time.
The Lady 'Cats will play again on Friday against the Tuloso-Midway Cherokees. The game will take place at T-M High School and begins at 5 p.m.
