The Robstown Cotton Pickers had another rough outing as they continued their grueling non-district schedule for 2011. This time it was the Sinton Pirates who got the better of the 'Pickers, pitching a 47-0 shutout.

Adding difficulty to the 0-4 start for Robstown was the loss of freshman quarterback David Molina, who broke his collarbone during the game.

“That was probably a bigger loss to us, than the game,” Robstown Head Coach Enrique Gonzalez said. “David is our future. He had just got his first start against Refugio. Now we have to figure something else out offensively.”

Robstown will return to a rotating system at quarterback, with Victor Leal and Omar Elizondo splitting the snaps.

The 'Pickers will have one more tough non-district contest with Ingleside, who is currently ranked 21st in Class 3A by TexasFootball.com.

“We've got a lot of respect for Ingleside,” Gonzalez said. “We've had some great games with them the past two years.”

The game will be the final non-district contest of the year for Robstown.
