The United League Baseball became the last of the professional baseball leagues to get started, but it's all business through August.

The league opened play on Thursday, May 27, and will continue its 93-game schedule with only one open date, in early August.

After the first four games, the defending ULB champion Amarillo Dillas and the Edinburg Roadrunners were tied for first place, with 3-1 records.

The Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings and the Coastal Bend Thunder were 2-2, while the San Angelo Colts and the Laredo Broncos were 1-3.

The Dillas three wins all came against the Colts. The two clubs were the ones who played for the ULB championship at the end of the 2009 season.

The Wings took two wins at Laredo, then fell twice at home to the Roadrunners.

Laredo lost three straight games before winning one at Coastal Bend.

At the time of this writing, San Angelo's Joshua Collazo leads the league in batting, with a .667 average, followed by Wings Jason Diaz, at .600.

Other top hitters were Leon Contreras, Coastal Bend, .538; Ryon Flynn, Laredo, .530; Arion Quiroz, WhiteWings, .500; and Felix Molina, Edinburg. .500.

Ambiorix Concepcion of the Roadrunners is the only one to hit more than one home run, he had two. No pitcher had more than one win.

The Thunder will play a series against San Angelo from June 2 through June 5.
