The Robstown Cotton Pickers easily swept the Fredericksburg Billies last week, advancing to a Region Quarterfinals showdown against the Mathis Pirates this week.

The Cotton Pickers outscored the Billies 22-4 in their two games Thursday and Friday.

Game 1 on Thursday saw a close match, with the 'Pickers finishing ahead 5-4. Game 2 was a blowout, with Robstown winning 17-0.

The Cotton Pickers will now face the Pirates, who are coming off a 5-0 shutout of Pearsall.

The one-game playoff between Robstown and Mathis will take place at Fairgrounds Field in Robstown at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Tickets will be $5 for adults and $3 for students. No passes will be allowed.
