The Tuloso-Midway swim team won the District 31-4A meet held Feb. 2.

Both the girls and boys team succeeded in winning their divisions.

beating Calallen, Alice and H.M. King High School's.

Calallen finished third in both the boys and girls divisions.

In the 24 events, Tuloso-Midway practically dominated winning 18 of them.

Tuloso-Midway was also honored at the event winning four district awards acknowledging the best in the competition.

Coach Anna Alaniz was named District Girls Coach of the Year, after leading the Tuloso-Midway girls team to a huge win in the competition with 245 points. Alice finished a distant second with 111 points.

Freshman Kirsten Ericksen was named District Girls Swimmer of the Year. Ericksen took first place in three events - the 200-yard medley relay, the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard backstroke.

Senior Kody O' Connell was named District Boys Swimmer of the year. O' Connell won four events - the 200-yard freestyle, the 200-yard medley relay, the 200 -yard freestyle relay and the 100-yard butterfly.

James O' Neill was named District Boys Diver of the Year.

Altogether, the Tuloso-Midway swim team set eight district records.

Calallen also set two district record as sophomore Wesley McCoy excelled in the 50 and 500-yard freestyle events.
