Raul Felan, 84, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2008.
He was born Aug. 12, 1923 in Mexico to Juan De Dios and Rosa Herrera Felan. He was a Catholic, and a longtime resident of Robstown. He was self-employed and operated his own business, Felan TV in Robstown. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Primitiva Esquivel Felan; his brothers and sisters, Santiago, Salomon, Jesusita, Sofia, Alejandro, Aurelia, Rosa, Adela, Aurora, Concepcion, Amalia, Abel and Seferino Felan.
Survivors include his wife, Fernanda Martinez Felan; his children, Bellanira (Joe Santos) Medina, Raul (Esmeralda) Felan Jr., both of Robstown, and Rosa (Andres) Alaniz of Kingsville; his sister, Julia Yzaguirre of Corpus Christi; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, in the Ramon Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Mass was celebrated at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Interment followed at St. Anthony Cemetery.
