The struggle for Mexico's Independence from Spain was the topic of discussion and emphasis at Tuloso-Midway High School last week.
To set the stage for the Diez y Seis de Septiembre celebration, three TMHS Spanish teachers donned traditional costumes. Students gathered in the lecture hall each period to hear a historical presentation given by Senorita Stella Hatch along with a Powerpoint presentation given by Senora Awilda Maymi and Senora Adriana Lazar.
A question and answer session was followed by an explanation of each of the teacher's costumes.
The rest of the week was topped off with a fiesta of delicious "comida típica mexicana" provided by the students.
