The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory through Tuesday for a part of South Texas which includes Jim Wells, Duval and Nueces counties.

The forecast for today includes hot temperatures and even hotter heat indices. The predicted high Tuesday is expected to hover neat 100 degrees. Combined with humidity, the daytime temperatures are expected to feel like 105 degrees around Nueces County. Heat indices in more western counties like Jim Wells and Duval could see indices between 110 and 115 degrees.

The National Weather Service is predicting slightly lower temperatures Wednesday through the weekend.

There is possible relief in sight. Meteorologists said there is a 20 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms in the area Saturday through Monday.
