Banquete Running back Jacob Gonzalez continued his dominance by rushing for 166 yards and three touchdowns in a 40-14 win over visiting John Paul II on Friday.

Gonzalez, who scored on runs of 1, 22 and 27 yards, now has seven touchdowns and 347 yards rushing in two games. He rushed for 181 yards and four touchdowns against Mathis last week.

The Bulldogs piled up 302 total yards, 261 of that on the ground. Banquete’s defense held the Centurions to only nine first downs and 194 total yards, all but 10 of that rushing.

Victor Montemayor scooped up one of John Paul II’s three fumbles and returned 80 yards to the end zone.

“Our defense came up with big plays when we needed them,” Banquete coach Kevin Hermes said.
