The City of Corpus Christi Public Communications Department is pleased to announce that the City has received a first place 2012 Savvy Award from the City County Communications & Marketing Association also known as 3CMA.

The City received a first place award in the category of “Citizen Engagement” for the 2012 Budget Education Campaign. The campaign was a team effort between multiple city departments including Municipal Information Systems, Management & Budget and Public Communications. The campaign included the 2012 Budget Calculator, citizen meetings, video public service announcements, newsletters and other public engagement tools. The efforts were developed into an overall budget education campaign to gain public input while developing the proposed budget for 2012.

It should be noted that in winning the Savvy Award, the City of Corpus Christi was up against cities and counties from across the nation. The 2012 Savvy Awards were presented on Thursday, September 6, 2012 during the 3CMA National Conference in Portland, Oregon.

3CMA was organized in 1988 has a membership of more than 700 cities, counties and municipal entities. During its 24 year history, 3CMA has more than 10,000 competition entries which in many cases has become the benchmark for local government communication efforts.
