Dan Garcia Benavidez, 79, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, October 8, 2012. He was born in Robstown, Texas on June 4, 1933 to Damian and Maria Benavidez. He was a bus driver with Robstown Independent School District for several years until reaching his retirement and later became an active member of the Robstown Senior Citizens Center. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.
He goes home to reunite with his parents, one son, Eddie Benavidez, one brother, Gilberto Benavidez, and two sisters, Licha Ramon and Olivia Clayton who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years of marriage, Eva Benavidez of Robstown, Texas; seven children, Felipe (Diana) Benavidez of San Antonio, Texas, Maria Alicia (Jose Emilio) Martinez of Edroy, Texas, Daniel Benavidez of San Antonio, Texas, Sandra Stastney of Robstown, Texas, Jaime (Nora) Benavidez of Odem, Texas, Diana Garcia, Peter Benavidez both of Robstown, Texas; one brother, Cosme (Ramona) Benavidez of Robstown, Texas, and one sister, Ruby Salinas of California. He was also blessed with 12 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends who loved him unconditionally.
A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel in Robstown, Texas. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m.on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Robstown, Texas. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Mausoleum in Robstown, Texas.
