Ruben Silva Vidaurri, 76, went to be at peace on Monday, October 1, 2012. He was born in Taft, Texas on November 24, 1935 to Ernesto and Jesusa Silva Vidaurri. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and he worked for the City of Robstown for many years as the street superintendent. He was also a member of Jackson Woods Presbyterian Church, the Lions Club, and a life member of the National Rifle Association. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.

He goes home to reunite with his parents and one brother, Moises Vidaurri who preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 56 years of marriage, Idolina R. Vidaurri of Robstown, Texas; four children, Cynthia (Julio) Vidaurri of Washington, D.C., Cassandra (Victor Jr.) Gutierrez of Robstown, Texas, Caleb (Gail) Vidaurri of Laredo, Texas, Layne Foutch of Robstown, Texas and one brother, Abel (Eunice) Vidaurri of Corpus Christi, Texas. He was also blessed and adored by his four grandchildren, Alexis, Victor, Bryan, Dustin, and three great grandchildren, Jaiden, Cheyenne, and Sky, as well as, many other relatives and friends who loved him unconditionally.

A visitation was held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel in Robstown, Texas. The Funeral Service was conducted at 9 a.m. on Thursday, October 4, 2012, at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel in Robstown, Texas. Burial followed at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas.
