Tuloso-Midwayís Katie Quiroz won the girls title at the Calallen Cross Country Invitational last Saturday with a time of 19 minutes, 56 seconds. The Cherokees finished third in the team standings with 98 points.
Gregory-Portland scored 32 points to capture the team championship. Flour Bluff finished second with 82 points.
T-Mís Victoria Gonzalez also medaled, finishing third in 20:39. Cara Ortiz finished 14th in 21:55, Amber Garza 39th in 23:35 and Alex Olivares 41st in 23:42.
The host Wildcats finished ninth with 225 points. Ally Karagas finished 26th in 23:04, followed by Amy Hernandez in 27th in 23:05, Grace Ann Polasek 49th in 24:07, Michelle Alvarez 55thin 24:32 and Briana Frausto 68th in 26:17.
On the boys side, Aliceís John Rodriguez won the individual title with a time of 17:13. Laredo Martin scored 44 points to claim the team title, while Laredo Nixon finished second with 74 points and G-P third with 103.
T-Mís Joshua Perez finished 12th in 17:59 and teammate Guillermo Rodriguez 14th in 18:02. Austin Ramos ran 18:15 to finish 19th, while Clayton Smith finished 21st in 18:24.
Calallenís Michael Tolentino finished 41st in 19:10 and Miguel Cantu 45th in 19:21. David Riggs finished 55th in 19:41, Trenton Rios 82nd in 20:57, Aaron Flores 84th in 20:59, Blake McCain 106th in 22:58 and Dustin Flores 111th in 25:30.
The host Wildcats scored 307 points to finish 12th.
