Banquete quarterback Ben Benavides went 10 of 18 for 236 yards and two touchdowns to go along with two rushing scores in a 26-6 win over Skidmore-Tynan on Friday. The Bulldogs improved to 3-0 in District 16-2A Division II and 6-0 overall, while the Bobcats dropped to 2-1 and 2-4.

Benavides set the tone in the first quarter with a 6-yard touchdown run with 3 minutes, 21 seconds left on the clock. He then hooked up with Manuel Garcia on a 61-yard touchdown strike as time expired to put the Bulldogs in front 14-0.

The third quarter was nearly a mirror image of the first, with Benavides scoring on the ground from 13 yards out. Five minutes later, Benavides hit Garcia for a 58-yard touchdown strike.
