Jose Odilon Esparza, 77, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 14, 2012. He was born in Martindale, Texas on October 13, 1935 to Odilon and Refugia Celaya Esparza. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.

He goes home to reunite with his parents, three brothers, Francisco Esparza, Pedro Esparza, Ignacio Esparza, and one granddaughter, Sylvia Ann Trevino who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years of marriage, Angelica “Vengie” Esparza of Robstown, Texas; seven children, Mary Helen Perez of Corpus Christi, Texas, Cynthia (Armando Gomez) Chavez of Robstown, Texas, Anna Marie Aguirre, Michael Anthony (Melissa) Esparza, Blanca Estella (Robert R. Jr.) Lerma, Jose Maria (Belinda) Esparza all of Corpus Christi, Texas, Janie (Enrique Jr.) Puentes of Galveston, Texas; three sisters, Gloria Gonzalez of Round Rock, Texas, Cruz Samaniego of Tucson, Arizona, and Anna Esparza of Chicago, Ill. He was also blessed and adored by his 19 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, as well as, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives and friends who loved him deeply.

A Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel in Robstown, Texas. The Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Robstown, Texas. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
