Orange Grove kept with Sinton for as long as possible, but the Pirates proved to be too much for the Bulldogs on Friday.

Sinton scored a combined 28 points in the secondand third quarters en route to a 42-28 win over Orange Grove, its first loss of the season. ThePirates improved to 1-1 in District 30-3A and 5-2 overall, while the Bulldogs dropped to 1-1 and 6-1.

The teams traded touchdowns to open the game, resulting in a 14-13 Orange Grove lead. Sintonresponded by scoring 22 unanswered points to take control.

Quarterback Ruben Lopez completed 14 passes for 191 yards and three touchdowns, all to Matthew Priddy. Lopez also rushed for 48 yards and a score, while Priddy finished with eight catches for 112 yards.
